Why Native Plants Matter

Native plants are the cornerstone of healthy ecosystems. At our Native Plant Nursery & Conservation Area, we grow and showcase indigenous species that support local wildlife, pollinators, and soil health—while educating visitors on how to create natural spaces at home, school, or in their communities.

Here, you’ll discover:

  • Hundreds of native flowers, trees, and shrubs for sale or viewing
  • Interactive demonstration gardens organized by sun, soil, and seasonal bloom
  • A functioning native plant nursery, seed bank, and propagation house
  • Exhibits on invasive species, ecological balance, and native landscaping

What You’ll Find Here

Walk through curated habitats from wetland edge to woodland shade. Every garden tells a story.

Retail Native Nursery

Education & Workshops

Learn how to build a rain garden, attract pollinators, start native seeds, or landscape with purpose.

Our Mission: Restore, Rewild, Reconnect

This area of Highland Farm Park is more than a nursery—it’s a restoration zone. Through community planting events, species recovery programs, and our partnership with local universities and conservation nonprofits, we are:

  • Reintroducing keystone native species
  • Supporting pollinator corridors and Monarch butterfly migration
  • Training the next generation of eco-gardeners and native plant experts
  • Creating seed-saving systems for the future
